Quick Update

Okay, it's been a while - again...

We had Dad's retirement party it was a lot of fun. He is actually ready to go back to work. Between Sam and me, he hasn't had much of a break. Sam keeps him busy with catering and he was in Bryan painting the trim of our house last week.

We are entering our first BBQ Cook-off this weekend, not to mention topping it off with a Patranella Family Reunion on Sunday. I should have lots of great pictures next time I post. Hopefully, I can get motivated to do that early next week. We'll see... I won't make any promises.

This is what out banner looks like - We had it made from http://www.wholesalebannerz.com/. It was really inexpensive and the people were great. I'd highly recommend them for any banner needs. The pictures we used were taken on our drive across the South in 2006. We had visited different NASCAR tracks and the International Motorsports Hall of Fame. I sent the watermark picture and then the designer helped insert the photos. Kudos to them.

RETIREMENT!

No pictures today, but I wanted to let you know that Dad's retirement was official as of April 1. No, it's not a twisted April Fool's joke, although that would make mom happy! As you all know, she wasn't on board with the idea. Misty and I told her to face it, she lost this battle... He's got lots lined up. Sam is keeping him busy with catering jobs right now and then next week he will be down here painting our house. Hey, he chose to retire. At least he used to get paid to do these things!

Monthly Update

So, now I know why I don't blog, I don't have that much to put in here. I guess once a month isn't too bad. The kids were here the weekend before Easter. We went to the 10th Annual Easter Egg Hunt at the George Bush Library. Trenton didn't care for the egg gathering. Since they were broken up in age brackets, Dave took him and Presley and I went off to the older division. They were able to meet Kaboom, the Brazos Vally Bombers Mascot.

We went to the carnival at the Mall that night. It was a lot of fun. I think Presley would have had more fun with a friend. Trenton was too little to ride "big" people rides and she was a little bored on the ones he could ride. Although, I think she had more fun playing the games. She actually beat Dave and I on a shooting game and won the grand prize. Believe it or not, we didn't let her win. I wonder what her Daddy is teaching her at home??

All in all, we had a great weekend. They are precious and we love having them with us.

Trenton came down with Mom and Dad last week and told my Mema that he liked coming to our house, becasue he has big trucks and it's fun! That made us feel really special.

Dad is offically retired. Yesterday was his last day of official work. They are having a retirement reception for him tomorrow in Rockdale. I will only work 1/2 a day (darn) and then head to Rockdale. Dave won't be able to make it, but he will be at the big party Saturday night.
I will try to do better at posting updates. Maybe the next one won't be a month from now. We have a busy April planned. We are entering our first BBQ cook-off at the end of the month. I'll let you know how that goes.
