Family

As my family is preparing to gather this afternoon, I don't see it as a "goodbye", I see it as "until we meet again."  I know someday, we will all be together and celebrating in God's house.  She's just gone ahead to get it ready for us.  My heart is sad and yet, bursting with joy all at the same time because I know tonight we will share stories and memories of all of the wonderful times we had with her.

I don't know that I will say anything at the service.  Those who know me, know that I am somewhat emotional. :-)  I found this poem and although I may not be able to recite the words, this is my feeling today.

If tears could build a stairway
And memories were a lane
We would walk right up to heaven
And bring you back again.
No farewell words were spoken
No time to say goodbye
You were gone before we knew it
And Only God knows why
Our hearts still ache in sadness
And secret tears still flow
What it meant to lose you
No one can ever know
But now we know you want us
To mourn for you no more
To remember all the happy times
Life still has much in store
Since you’ll never be forgotten
We pledge to you today
A hallowed place within our hearts
Is where you’ll always stay

Love you Grandma, and always, always will
